A Word From SF Recording Studio’s Creative Director Exile:
SF Recording Studio started off with a dream and a love for music. In the last couple of years that Exile has been in the music game, he has met a lot of aspiring artists who just wanted to make music. These artists inspired me to open SF Recording Studio. With the affordability and accessibility of SF Recording Studio any artist can come in and make good music and let their creativity come out through the tracks. I have been to many studios throughout the Bay Area and has seen how expensive they can be; $500+ for a single session where the artist needs to complete three tracks is simply too much. My goal is to take the pressure and stress out of making music and give artists an opportunity to enjoy making hits, as well as boost their confidence in themselves and their abilities as musicians. What better place to open a studio than in the heart of San Francisco, where we are going to make magic happen.
About SF Recording Studio
At SF Recording Studio our goal is to make any artist feel like a star, like they are capable of making hits day in and day out. Music software and hardware technology is so great now that we can make music sound like it came from a high end studio, while at the same time cutting the high end studio price. Using quality plug ins (i.e. Waves, Audio Suite, Melodyne, Auto-Tune and many others) and specialty microphones to fit the voice of the artist (whether it’s Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B etc) SF Recording studio is able make the final product sound like it is the final product.
About Exile
Just like any producer, or artist, will tell you, I listen to all different types of music. I feel like I have an advantage because coming from overseas I was exposed to even more styles of music than are heard in the US. Whether it was European hits of the 70’s and 80’s or music coming from the States I was into it all. I received my first synthesizer on my eighth birthday and the rest is history. I started by creating drum loops and samples and later worked my way onto learning Reason. I studied Reason and Acid by reading the manual and afterwards took several operator courses. As I got better at Reason I started working with some vocal recording software. I started learning the proper vocal mincing and instrument positioning. At the age seventeen I got signed to an Independent Label as a producer for “The Regime” I produced a few hits for them and learned about the business side of music. Over the last couple of years I have upgraded my equipment and have spent many sleepless night learning the ins and outs of beat making and vocal engineering.
I try to get my hands on all aspects of the recording process when it comes to creating music. I rap, produce, engineer, song-write, perform, mix and master. I have been seriously working with music for the past 5 years. I have participated in internships at two recording studios in the past couple of years, and have also become a part-time engineer at a local Youth Center helping kids make music while keeping them off the streets. So far I have created two solo albums that have been widely distributed online, as well as a few mix tapes. As a producer I have produced, mixed and mastered solo albums for many local Bay Area artists. One of my favorite projects was to co-produce a compilation album for the Sunset Youth Center by creating a positive vibe and hip-hop hits with over twenty different artists on the album. In addition I have worked with several mainstream artists as well as many popular underground artists through the past five years and hope to work with many more in the future.
